Start with Scripture and Prayer
Scripture equips us with the right tools and direction needed to make wholesome decisions rooted in love, kindness, compassion, and righteousness. As we read and study the profound wisdom found in scripture teachings, we allow ourselves the opportunity to learn from the examples set by biblical figures, such as Moses, who sought after God's plan for their lives.
We become more inclined to hear His voice and obey his commands. We develop a stronger connection and understanding of what it means to live out our faith on a daily basis.
Ultimately, studying the Bible allows us not only access to divine wisdom but also empowers us in our journey toward living a life that is pleasing and aligned with God's purpose for each one of us individually. So let’s dive deep into its pages and allow its teachings guide our path as we seek to honor Him through obedience and faithful living!
The first step in following God's plan is developing a deep relationship with Him through prayer and regular Bible study.
By engaging with His word, we open our hearts and minds to receive His guidance and direction. Through prayer, we communicate directly with Him, sharing our hopes, fears, and desires while seeking His spirit and wisdom.
It is in these moments that He reveals His plans for us - God’s plans that are always filled with love, purpose, and significance.
Through prayer and study, it becomes easier for us to discern His voice through the noise and confusion of a world poisoned by sin and wickedness. We become more attuned to His leading as He directs us towards paths that align with His perfect love and perfect plan for our lives.
So it is important for us to continue to prioritize prayer and Bible study as foundational steps in building our relationship with God and charting a course along the path He has ordained for us.
In combination, prayer and scripture serve as powerful tools that transform us from within so that we can walk confidently in the Kingdom of God everyday.
Those who Followed God
Throughout the Bible, there are numerous examples of individuals who followed God's plan for their lives and were led to success and abundance. From Abraham and Moses to David and Paul, these faithful souls sought after God's wisdom and demonstrated unwavering commitment and obedience to God's instructions.
Take Abraham, for instance. Despite the fact that God asked him to sacrifice his son Issac, he trusted God’s plan even though it was something extremely difficult to go through. And God did not let him down, Issac’s life was spared at the last minute and because of his faithfulness, God fulfilled his promise to Abraham and made him the father of many nations.
“In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” (Genesis 22:1-19)
Moses, too, displayed incredible faith when he followed God's instructions to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Even though Moses was completely overwhelmed having to deal with the physical and spiritual care of his people, he was diligent in seeking God’s face and instruction while wandering in the wilderness. Because of Moses’ trust in God’s plan, the Israelites finally made it to Promised Land after many years of hardship.
“Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the LORD.” (Deuteronomy 33:29)
David is also a prime example of someone who wholeheartedly sought after God's wisdom and obeyed His commands. He was known as a man after God's own heart due to his deep reverence for Him. Even when facing adversity while on the run from King Saul, David relied on God's strength and guidance. Eventually, David became king of Israel and paved the way for the birth of Jesus Christ.
He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. (Luke 1:32)
And we shouldn’t forget about the Apostle Paul, whose life was transformed while traveling on the road to Damascus. Once a persecutor of Christians, Paul had a radical encounter with Jesus Christ that completely changed his perspective. From that point forward, Paul dedicated his life to spreading the Gospel message and establishing churches throughout ancient Rome.
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! So Paul stayed there for the next year and a half, teaching the word of God. (Acts 18:9,11)
These biblical figures serve as powerful examples for us today - reminding us that by faithfully following in God's footsteps and obeying His commands, we can experience His blessings in our own lives.
Bible study and prayer allows us to uncover the principles that shape a Christian lifestyle.
Engaging in regular Bible study allows us to deepen our faith by immersing ourselves in the stories, parables, and teachings found within its pages. While prayer offers us the opportunity to talk to God directly to receive wisdom and guidance on various aspects of our day to day life - from cultivating godly virtues such as love, compassion, and forgiveness to navigating challenges with grace and resilience.
We discover profound truths that have the power to transform our thinking and shape our actions. As we encounter different narratives of triumphs and struggles faced by biblical figures, we find inspiration in their journeys of faith.
More importantly, studying the Bible helps us develop a closer relationship with God.
Through its pages, we learn more about His character - His love for humanity, His mercy towards sinners, His justice in all things - which ultimately fosters a deeper connection with Him. By uncovering the principles outlined in the Bible through consistent study and prayerful reflection, we are better equipped to navigate the complexities of a worldly life.
Ultimately, engaging in Bible study allows us not only to gain knowledge but also apply it practically in our daily lives.
It gives us a rock solid foundation upon which we can build a Christian lifestyle - one characterized by love for others, integrity in all endeavors, humility before God and mankind alike.
We should endeavor to embrace the practice of Bible study earnestly as it leads us to a transformation in our personal and spiritual growth which in turn opens the doors to God's Kingdom.
Hearing and Obeying
The Bible emphasizes the importance of hearing and obeying God's commands as an expression of our love for Him.
When Jesus told his disciples, "If you love me, keep my commands" in John 14:15, he was highlighting the inseparable connection between love and obedience.
Obedience to God's commands is a vital aspect of following His plan. As believers, our love for God is beautifully demonstrated through our obedience to His teachings.
Obedience reflects our trust and faith in His wisdom and authority. It is through this act of obedience that we align ourselves with His divine purpose for us and bring countless blessings into our lives.
“And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God.” (Deuteronomy 28:2)
It is through hearing and following the words of God that we discover true joy, peace, and fulfillment. We can rest assured knowing that He will guide us faithfully on the path He has set before us.
